editOrdon was born in Chicago and raised inLong Beach, California.He graduated with a bachelor's degree from theUniversity of California, Irvinein 1972 and received his medical degree from theUniversity of Southern CaliforniaSchool of Medicine (now theKeck School of Medicine of USC) in 1979. After a surgical internship at theLos Angeles County+USC Medical Center,Ordon completedresidenciesatLAC+USC Medical Centeras well asWhite Memorial Medical Centerin Los Angeles andLenox Hill HospitalinNew York City.[1][2]Ordon completed his fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery at the Beverly Hills Medical Center.[3]

editOrdon is a diplomate of theAmerican Board of Plastic Surgery,theAmerican Board of Otolaryngology,the American Board ofCosmetic Surgeryand theNational Board of Medical Examiners.Ordon is affiliated withCedars-Sinai Medical Centerin Los Angeles and Eisenhower Medical Center inRancho Mirage,California. He currently practices inBeverly Hillsand Rancho Mirage, California.[4]

editOrdon is currently an assistant clinical professor of plastic surgery at theDavid Geffen School of Medicine at UCLAin Los Angeles, Associate Professor of Surgery at the Keck/USC School of Medicine and atDartmouth Medical SchoolinHanover,New Hampshire.[3]He previously held faculty positions at theUniversity of Connecticut Health Centerand theNew York Medical College.[citation needed]
Andrew Ordon is also co-director of the Keck/USC Aesthetic Fellowship.[3]
Charity work
editOrdon is a founding member of the Surgical Friends Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides free surgical procedures to burn victims, abuse victims, people born with birth defects and others who cannot otherwise afford needed reconstructive surgery in the US and countries includingJordanandHaiti.Ordon has also worked withSmile Train,providing cleft lip and palate repairs.[3]
Television
editOrdon's television appearances as a medical and plastic surgery expert date back to the 1980s. In 2007 he became a regular guest of Dr.Phil McGrawon theDr. Philtalk show. In 2008 Ordon was selected by McGraw as a host forThe Doctors,a talk show produced by McGraw. OnThe DoctorsOrdon discusses plastic surgery as well as skin care, anti-aging techniques and other well-being topics. The program issyndicatedin over 140 countries, has taped about 1200 episodes, and reaches an average 1.15 million daily viewers in the US.[3]The show has been nominated for aDaytime Emmy Awardsix times, winning for Outstanding Talk Show/Informative in 2010. Ordon, together with his co-hosts, received Outstanding Talk Show Host nominations in 2011 and 2012.[3]

In 2011, a Golden Palm Star on thePalm Springs, California,Walk of Starswas dedicated to him.[6][7]
