Aphyolebiasis a genus of New Worldkillifishfrom thefamilyRivulidae.Although this genus is recognised byFishbase[1]In 1998, it was suggested that several species from the genusMoemabe moved to the newAphyolebias.[2]Genetic research has indicated thatMoemaisparaphyleticandmonophylyis only established when it is merged with the genusAphyolebias.TheCatalog of FishesrecordsAphyolebiasas asynonymofMoema.[3]
