Bagel toast(Hebrew:בייגל טוסט,romanized:Beygel Tost) is asandwichcommonly eaten inIsrael.It is composed of a pressed,toastedbagelfilled withvegetablesandcheeseand is grilled on a sandwich toaster orpanini press.While the bagel is round with a hole in the center, it is unlike the typicalAmerican bagelin that it is made from a different dough[citation needed]withsesame seeds.Bagel toast is generally filled withtzfatit,feta,gvina levanaorgalil cheese,green olives, corn, tomatoes, onions, dressing, andpizzaor chili sauce.[1]

Bagel toast is typically found in cafes or coffee houses in Israel and is also served as a casual snack in the home. At the famous Abulafia Bakery, inJaffa,Tel Aviv,Israel, bagel toast is served with a side ofza'atar,a mixture ofsumac,sesame seeds and herbs.[2]
