Hyperoodon(orHyperoödon)[3]is agenusofbeaked whale,containing just two species: theNorthernandSouthern bottlenose whales.[4]While not in the genusHyperoodon,Longman's beaked whalesare alternatively calledtropical bottlenose whalesdue to their physical features resembling those of bottlenose whales.
