Career

editBorn inCalifornia,Fodrey began his career with localSan Diego–based clubs Albion Pros Club,San Diego Surf,andSan Diego Nomads.[1]He then joined the youth setup ofMajor League SoccerclubLA Galaxyin 2019.[2]
San Diego Loyal
editTowards the end of 2020, Fodrey was invited to tryout withUSL ChampionshipclubSan Diego Loyalby the club assistant coachNate Miller.[1]He impressed during the trial and signed a USL academy contract with the club in December 2020.[1][3]He scored his first goal for the club in their pre-season match against his former clubLA Galaxy.[4]
On May 22, 2021, Fodrey made his professional debut for San Diego Loyal againstLouisville City,coming on as an 81st-minute substitute in the 1–2 defeat.[5]
San Diego State
editIn the fall of 2022, Fodrey joinedSan Diego State Universityto playcollege soccer.In his freshman season, Fodrey made 18 appearances, scoring seven goals and tallying four assists for the Aztecs. Fodrey was named All-Pac 12 First Team and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in his debut college season.[6]
On December 19, 2022, it was announced that Fodrey would leave college early, signing aGeneration Adidascontract withMajor League Soccerand entering the2023 MLS SuperDraft.[7]
Austin FC
editOn December 21, 2022, Fodrey was drafted 13th overall in the2023 MLS SuperDraftbyAustin FC.[8]Fodrey made his first team debut in the 3–1 loss to FC Juárez in theLeagues Cup.[9]
Austin FC II loan
editAt the beginning of the 2023 season it was announced that Fodrey was being loaned to Austin FC II for their inaugural season.[10]Fodrey came on as a sub at the left winger position for Austin FC II, earning an assist and forcing an own goal, when they won the2023 MLS Next Pro Cup,beating the Columbus Crew 2 by a score of 3–1.[11]Prior to the2024 season,Austin FC announced they would loan Fodrey to the second team for the 2024 season.[12]
