The gentle coastline surrounding it is home to villages includingNefyn,Pistyll,Trefor,Llithfaen, andClynnog Fawron the mainland, andAberffraw,LlanddwynandRhosneigron Anglesey.

TheMenai Straitheads north east to link the bay toConwy Bay.
