Carmen Trottais a pacifist and a member of theCatholic Worker Movement,[1]Trotta has been an opponent of the war in Iraq.[2]He has been an associate editor of theCatholic Worker,and has served on the executive committee of theWar Resisters League.

Pacifist and human rights actions
editTrotta helped organize the April 20, 2002 march on Washington to oppose theWar on Terror.
On May 30, 2008, he was sentenced to ten days in jail for protesting abuses atGuantanamoin front of theU.S Supreme Court.[3]
He was a founding member ofWitness Against Torture,[4]and as a member of that group, he was the first person arrested in the "100 Days Campaign"protest at the White House, against the prison atGuantanamo Bay Detention Camp[5][6]
