Caroline Sidney Aaron(néeAbady;born August 7, 1952)[1]is an American actress. She has appeared in multipleMike Nichols,Nora Ephron,andWoody Allenfilms and is also known for her role in the television seriesThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Early life
editAaron was born inRichmond, Virginia.[1]Her mother, Nina Abady (néeFriedman) was a civil rights activist; Alabama-born, she was of Syrian Jewish descent, and worked full time to support her three kids after the death of Aaron's father, who was ofSephardic Jewish(Lebanese-Jewish) descent.[2]Aaron's elder sister,Josephine Abady,a theatre director and producer, died from breast cancer on May 25, 2002, aged 52.
Aaron attendedAmerican UniversityinWashington, D.C.,studying performing arts.[3]She studied acting atHB Studio[4]in New York City.

editAaron is known for her performances in films likeMike Nichols'Heartburn(1986) andPrimary Colors(1998), as well asWoody Allen'sCrimes and Misdemeanors(1989),Alice(1990), andDeconstructing Harry(1997), andNora Ephron'sSleepless in Seattle(1993). She also appeared inTim Burton'sEdward Scissorhands(1990) andStanley Tucci'sBig Night(1996). She also appeared in21 Jump Street(2012) and its sequel22 Jump Street(2014).
She is also known for her work on television, including guest roles onWings,Frasier,Curb Your Enthusiasm,Desperate Housewives,Transparent,Madam Secretary,andThe Good Fight.
