Cheryl Chase(bornCheryl C. Hudock;born December 25, 1958) is an American actress and children's book author. She is best known for voicingAngelica Picklesin the television seriesRugratsand its spinoffsAll Grown Up!,Angelica and Susie's Pre-School Daze,and on therevival.

Early life and education

Chase was born on Christmas Day 1958 inManville, New Jersey,to Stella Sophia (Knapp) Hudock and Emil Robert Hudock. Both of her parents were entertainers: her mother was an actress and her father worked as a musician.[4]She is anonly child.[4]Chase attendedManville High Schoolin 1977.[5]She attendedBrigham Young Universitymajoring inearly childhood educationand graduated in 1981.[1]After college, Chase was a student at theLee Strasberg Theatre.[4]

Chase, then known by her birth name Cheryl Hudock, made her onscreen debut alongsideMarie Osmondin the 1982 television movie,Side by Side: The True Story of the Osmond Family.Chase is best known as the voice ofAngelica PicklesonRugrats,[6]All Grown Up!,[7]Angelica and Susie's Pre-School Daze,and theRugratsrevival series.[8]Chase's characterAngelica Picklesplaced #7 inTV Guide's "50 Greatest Cartoon Characters of All Time" (August 2002). Her programs on which she has voiced characters includeThe Smart Talk with Raisin Show(as Raisin),The Ren & Stimpy Show,[9]Noozles(As "Pinky" ),Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water(as "Marie" in theStreamline PicturesEnglish dub), andRandom! Cartoons(as "Nurse" ).

Chase was also the voice behindLittle Miss BossyandLittle Miss Curiousin the second season ofThe Mr. Men Showunder the name Sophie Roberts.

Behind the mic, Chase provided the voice of Mei in theStreamline Picturesdub of theHayao MiyazakifilmMy Neighbor Totoroas well as Sachi in theKatsuhiro OtomofilmNeo Tokyo;in the earlyHarmony GoldEnglishDragon Balldub from the 1980s, she voicedPuar(Squeaker). On the big screen Chase provided the baby sounds[9]for Baby Pubert inAddams Family Values,an alien child inTotal Recall,Diane Keaton's daughter inBaby Boomand voicedAngelica PicklesinThe Rugrats Movie,[4]Rugrats in Paris: The Movie,[10]andRugrats Go Wild.[11]

Chase's first children's book "That's Coola, Tallulah!" was published in March 2021.[12]

Personal life

On June 25, 2021, she married producer and historianJerry Beck,her boyfriend of 33 years.[3]
