Early life
editVaughn playedhigh school footballat Rampart high school in Colorado Springs, CO for a year then moved toRobinson Secondary SchoolinFairfax, Virginia.
Professional career
editNew Orleans Saints
editOn April 26, 2009, Vaughn was drafted by theNew Orleans Saintsin the fourth round (116th overall) of the2009 NFL draft.[1]He was placed oninjured reserveand missed the entire2009 season.He was waived on September 4, 2010.
Philadelphia Eagles
editVaughn was signed to thePhiladelphia Eagles'practice squadon September 6, 2010. He was released on September 21.[2]
Indianapolis Colts
editVaughn was signed by theIndianapolis Coltson October 25, 2010. He was waived on November 13, but re-signed on November 16. He was placed on injured reserve on November 23. Vaughn was called for two personal fouls in the last two minutes of a preseason game between theIndianapolis Coltsand theGreen Bay Packerson August 26, 2011. He was waived on August 28.
Carolina Panthers
editVaughn was signed to the practice squad of theCarolina Pantherson December 20, 2011.[3]
Saskatchewan Roughriders
editVaughn signed with theSaskatchewan Roughriderson February 6, 2013.[4]He was released on June 17, 2013.[5]
Coaching career
editVaughn was named the secondary coach at theAir Force Academyin 2018.[6]He left after the 2019 season to join the coaching staff of theNew York Jetsas a defensive assistant.
He also spent short stints as the assistant director of player personnel forIllinoisandLake Erieas the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator in 2023 but was relieved of his duties following each stop. In 2024, he took an entry-level job as a defensive line assistant withMorgan State. [7]
