Activity after retirement
editGlantz is known as a military historian of the Soviet role inWorld War II.[4]
He has argued that the view of theSoviet Union's involvement in the warhas been prejudiced in the West, which relies too much on German oral and printed sources without being balanced by a similar examination of Soviet source material.[5]Fellow historianJonathan Haslam,in a review about his book onOperation Mars, criticized him for some of his stylistic choices, such as hypothetical thoughts and feelings of historical figures apart from references to documented sources.[6]
