Euzkadiwas a dailynewspaperpublished inBilbao,Basque Country.[1]Its first edition was on 1 February 1913.
Euzkadipublished texts both inBasqueandSpanish,and it employed oneeditor-in-chieffor each language. The first editor-in-chief for Basque was writer EvaristoKirikiñoBustintza.
One of the Basque nationalist journalists who wrote for the paper wasManuel Aznar Zubigaray,who later would become afalangist.He was the grandfather of eventual Spanish prime ministerJosé María Aznar.
Euzkadisupported the branch ofBasque Nationalist Partythat was calledComunión Nacionalista Vasca( "Basque Nationalist Communion" ) after the party had split in 1921.
In June 1937, after the "national" forces had occupiedBilbaoduring theSpanish Civil War,Euzkadi's publication there was cancelled. Its premises were offered toEl Correo Españolwhich then was the newspaper of Spanish Falange.
Basque nationalist refugees continued the publication ofEuzkadiinBarcelonain 1938–1939.
