editEvin first appeared on stage from the mid-to-late 1960s.
In 1970, she made her television debut inThe Sinners,playing the part of Sister Magdalene.[1]In the same year, she played Moureen inDavid Lean'sRyan's Daughter.[2][3]Her role was memorable as a mischief-making hussy.[4][5]In the following year, Evin was Nominated for a BAFTA Film Award (Best Supporting Actress) for her role inRyan's Daughter.[6]
Notable television roles also include that of scullery maidEmilyinUpstairs, Downstairs,[7]where Evin was critically praised for her performance in the episodeI Dies from Love,wherein; Emily falls for afootmanfrom another home, and is rejected.
