Fahim Anwari(Persian/Dari:فهیم انوری) is an Afghan swimmer withtwo Afghan national records.[1]He is a member of Afghanistan's national swimming team.[2]During theCOVID-19 pandemic in Afghanistan,Anwari trained atQargha Lake.[3]In April 2021,Afghanistan National Olympic Committeeannounced that Anwari will become the first swimmer torepresent Afghanistanat theOlympics.[4][5][6]Anwari received financial support from the IOC for his preparations for the Olympics.[7]

Career
editIn January 2021, Anwari began training at the FINA Development Centre inKazan,Russia.[8]In April 2021, he set two Afghan national records after being part of the FINA Development program inKazan.[9]At the2020 Olympic Games,he finished 69th in themen's 50 m freestyle.[10]
