The town is situated at the intersection of theJingcheng Expressway,a six-lane expressway linking central Beijing viaHuairou DistrictandMiyun DistricttoChengdeinHebeiprovince, and the 6th Ring Road. In the year 2020, its population was 80,840.[1]
The name Gaoliying (Chinese:Cao Ly doanh;lit.'GoryeoCamp') refers to the large number of immigrants fromGoryeowho settled in this region during theTang dynasty.[2]
