TheGeneral López Department(inSpanish,Departamento General López) is an administrative subdivision (departamento) of theprovinceofSanta Fe,Argentina.It is located in the south of the province. Its head town isMelincué(population 2,200), and its largest city isVenado Tuerto(population 70,000).

It is bordered by theCaseros Departmentin the north, and by theConstitución Departmentin the north-east; the rest of its borders coincide with interprovincial limits (withCórdobain the west and withBuenos Airesin the south and east).
