Genevieve Valentine(born 1981) is an Americanscience fictionandfantasywriter. Herfirst novel,Mechanique: A Tale of the Circus Tresaulti,won theCrawford Award[2]for a first fantasy novel, and was shortlisted for theNebula.[3]

She wroteThe Persona SeriesforSaga Press(edited byNavah Wolfe), a science fiction thriller series which includes the novelsPersona(2015) andIcon(2016).

From 2014 to 2015, Valentine scripted anew seriesforDC ComicsfeaturingCatwoman,working with artistsGarry BrownandDavid Messina.Afterwards, she worked onBatman and Robin Eternalasscripter.

Her new comic seriesTwo Graves,illustrated byAnnie Wuand Ming Doyle, premiered in November 2022 fromImage Comics.

Her cultural criticism has appeared inNPR,The AV Club,Los Angeles Review of Books,Vice,Vox,andThe New York Times,among others.
