It is used as a sporting facility, concert venue and location for various other large functions (including a birthday gala for PresidentDwight D. Eisenhower). In addition, it hosted the 2004 Presidential Race Campaign stop for PresidentGeorge W. Bush.

It also hosts theTournament of BandsAtlantic Coast Championship marching band competition, every November. It formerly hosted theCavalcade of Bandschampionship competition.

The stadium hosted the final round of the2000 CONCACAF Men's Pre-Olympic Tournamentfor the2000 Summer Olympics.[2]Two berths were afforded for the Olympics for CONCACAF members, and theUnited StatesandHondurasqualified by winning their semifinal matches in the qualification tournament.[3]The stadium has hosted theU.S. men's national soccer teamon one occasion, a 3–1 victory overPolandon May 9, 1990.

Hersheypark Stadium hosted the fourth annualAHL Outdoor Classicin 2013, with the localHershey Bearsfacing theWilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.The "Baby Pens" defeated the Bears in front of a capacity crowd of 17,311 fans by a score of 2–1.[4]
