Station layout

The station consists of one ground-levelisland platformserving a two tracks, connected to the station building by a level crossing. The station has aMidori no Madoguchistaffed ticket office. The station building is modelled after nearbyHotaka Jinja(Hotaka Shrine).[1]

History

Hotaka Station opened on 15 July 1915. The present station building was completed in 1940. With the privatization ofJapanese National Railways(JNR) on 1 April 1987, the station came under the control of JR East.[1]

In fiscal 2015, the station was used by an average of 1,152 passengers daily (boarding passengers only).[2]
