Fictional character biography
editHyathis is the queen of Alstair, a planet in theAntaressolar system. Alstairans are all plant-like humanoids, with some resemblingmold,preferring darkness, and possessing the ability to infect others with mold via their bite.
Hyathis is continuously at war with the three other planetary monarchs in Antares:Kanjar Roof Dhor, Kromm of Mosteel, and Sayyar of Llarr. This conflict is temporarily ended when Ro paralyzes the other leaders with his Gamma Gong.
The Justice League later defeats Ro and imprisons all four rulers on a small planet with a surrounding energy barrier created byGreen Lantern.[1]They eventually crack the barrier and Ro escapes, leaving the others behind. Later, Hyathis' followers rescue her and take her toThanagar,where she cures the devastating Equalizer plague and manipulates the Thanagarians into becoming a warlike culture.[2][3][4]
Hyathis attempts to overthrow the government of Rann by using her telepathy to make the Zaredians battle theDarkstars.Amidst the chaos, Hyathis kidnapsAdam Strange's daughter Aleea Strange beforeSuperboyand theRaversdefeat her.[5]
Hyathis later meets withZauriel,an agent of thePresence,when the demon Okeontis obtainsDoctor Fate's helmet and infects the Alstarians with mold.[6][7]
Calleen,an ancient Alstarian, was one of the first seven Green Lanterns.[8][9]
Powers and abilities
editHyathis is a plant elemental who is connected to the Green and can manipulate plant life. Additionally, she is a powerful telepath and can breathe underwater.[10]
