TheIbicuí River(Portuguese,Rio Ibicuí[1]) (Portuguese pronunciation:[ibikuˈi]) is a river inRio Grande do Sulstate of southernBrazil.The Ibicuí is 290 km in length, and is the main tributary of theUruguay River.It is formed by the confluence of theIbicuí-Mirim RiverandSanta Maria Riverat the city ofCacequi.The Ibicuí divides the cities ofUruguaianaandItaqui.

The river's name,Ibicuí,means "ground of sand" in theTupi language.
