India Today Groupwas founded in 1975 byMadhu Trehanand its first publication wasIndia Todaywhich was a fortnightlynewsmagazine.[2]Aroon Purieis the currentchairmanandeditor-in-chiefand Dinesh Bhatia is the currentCEOof India Today Group.

TV Today Network

TheTV Today Networkis an English-Hindi Indian news television network based in India. The TV Today Network was incorporated in 1988, launching a video magazine calledNewstrack.[3]At that time, private television broadcasting was prohibited in India.[4]Newstrackproduced its programmes on videotape and distributed them to subscribers.The New York Timesdescribed them as fast-paced video magazines of investigative reporting, similar to CBS News' "60 Minutes".

Madhu Trehan,a sibling ofArun Purieand a graduate ofColumbia UniversityGraduate School of Journalism, was the creator ofNewstrackand also served as one of its anchors.[5]Having started with five to six journalists, it grew to a size of 30. The length of the programmes also increased from initial 30 minutes to eventual 90 minutes. The high points ofNewstrack's coverage were those ofKashmiri militancyand thedemolition of the Babri Masjid.It is listed on theBSEand theNSEand consists of the several news channels namely,Aaj Tak,India Today,Good News Today,Aaj Tak HDand digital channels distributed through its websites or YouTube.
