Early life

Baker attendedMcEachern High SchoolinPowder Springs, Georgia.He had 58 receptions for 629 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior and had 1,105 receiving yards and eight touchdowns as a junior. He was selected to play in the 2020All-American Bowl.Baker committed to theUniversity of Alabamato play college football.[1]

College career

Baker played at Alabama in 2020 and 2021. Over 21 games in two seasons he had nine receptions for 116 yards and one touchdown. After the 2021 season, Baker entered thetransfer portal.He originally committed to transfer to theUniversity of Kentuckybefore switching to theUniversity of Central Florida(UCF).[2][3][4]In his first season at UCF in 2022, Baker started 13 of 14 games and had 56 receptions for 796 yards and five touchdowns. As a senior in 2023, he was named first team All-Big 12after recording 52 receptions for 1,139 yards and seven touchdowns.[5]After the season, Baker entered the2024 NFL draft.[6]

Baker was selected by theNew England Patriotswith the 110th overall pick in the fourth round of the2024 NFL draft.[9]He signed his rookie contract on May 24, 2024.[10]

On September 1, 2024, Baker was given a ticket by theMassachusetts State Policefollowing his refusal to move his vehicle that was blocking traffic atLogan Airport.The incident was made public when Baker posted on his Instagram account a video describing the event. Baker was disciplined by Patriot head coachJerod Mayoafter the video surfaced. The details of the discipline were not made public.[11][12]
