He spent most of his playing career atHerfølge Boldklub,playing 197 games for the club.[2]In 1978, he was named sports director of Herfølge Boldklub and manager of the club in 1987. In 1993, he was named new coach of theGhana national team,and later on he became the national team coach ofQatar.[2]He was the manager of Qatari teamAl-Rayyan SC,[3]coachingFernando Hierro,Mario Basler,and the brothersFrankandRonald de Boerat the club.[2]He was manager of Malaysian teamKedah FA,and attracted former Herfølge playerThomas Abelto the club in the summer of 2002.[4]In November 2005, Larsen was signed as a manager ofBrønshøj BKin the second-tierDanish 1st Division.[2]
