Joshua McGuire(born 1987) is a British television, film and stage actor.[1][2]He is perhaps best known for his role as Angus in theChannel 4/Netflixcomedy seriesLovesick(formerlyScrotal Recall).[3]He starred opposite Daniel Radcliffe inRosencrantz and Guildenstern Are DeadatThe Old Vic.He portrayed Briar Cudgeon in the filmArtemis Fowl(2020).

Early life and education

McGuire was born in 1987 and brought up in the town ofWarwickinWarwickshire.[4]McGuire was educated atWarwick School,[5]a boarding and dayindependent schoolfor boys in his home town, followed by theRoyal Academy of Dramatic Art,inBloomsburyinCentral London,from which he graduated with a BA (Hons) in Acting.[6]

Life and career

Prior to graduation, McGuire had been a member ofPlaybox Theatre Company,and was involved in minor radio dramas andShakespeareanproductions.[7]While still a drama student, he first came to attention[from whom?]for his role in the premiere ofLaura Wade's satirical playPoshin which he portrayed Guy Bellingfield, a student member of the "Riot Club", a parody of theBullingdon ClubatOxford University.[8]

McGuire made guest appearances on a number ofBBCshows. He also starred as assistant toStephen Fry's character in the comedy seriesThe Bleak Old Shop of Stuff,a parody ofCharles Dickens' works.[citation needed]

McGuire played Rory inRichard Curtis's filmAbout Time.[9]In May 2016, McGuire played the role of Nunney in the BBC dramaLove, Nina.[10]
