editKuwait Timeswas founded byYousuf Saleh Alyanin 1961.[2][3]The 16-pagebroadsheetprovides in-depth reporting on local events and business news, analysis and editorials on local, regional, and international issues, and entertainment and sports news and features.
Since its founding in 1961, theKuwait Timeshas branched out to includeKuwait News,an Arabic-language digital news outlet. In 2024, the Kuwait Times also launchedKuwait Times Archive,dedicated to historic content derived from the bound archives ofKuwait Times.
Kuwait Times' discontinued projects include theFriday Times,a free 40-pagetabloid.It was the first tabloid in the country, offering local commentary, news, and analysis as well as entertainment, sports, and comprehensive features. Another discontinued Kuwait Times initiative was the sister Arabic daily newspaper,Alfajer Aljadeed,which was published for two years, following theinvasion of Kuwait.
