Lane Nishikawais aJapanese Americanactor, filmmaker, playwright andperformance artistwho was born inWahiawa, Hawaii,and isSansei(third generation Japanese American).[1]His work often deals withAsian Americanhistory and identity issues. He is widely known for manyone-man shows,includingLife in the Fast Lane,I'm on a Mission From Buddha,Mifune and Meand others. In 2005 he directed and played the lead role for theindependent feature film,Only the Brave,a fictional account of the rescue of theLost Battalionby the100th Infantry Battalion/442nd Regimental Combat Team.He has also written and directed two short films about World War IIveterans,Forgotten ValorandWhen We Were Warriors.
