Early life

Faye was born inRotterdam,Netherlands.[1]He began playing youth football with Spartaan '20,[2]after which he joined the youth system ofSparta Rotterdam.[3]At age 13, he joinedPSV Eindhovenyouth teams, before moving to the youth system ofVitessein December 2015.[4][5]

Club career

He made his senior debut withJong Vitesseon 13 August 2016 in the third tierTweede DivisieFC Lienden.[5]He made his first team debut withVitesseon 14 December 2016 in aKNVB Cupmatch againstCVV de Jodan Boys.[6]He won the2016–17 KNVB Cupwith the club.[7]After declining to sign a new contract in the summer of 2018, Vitesse picked up an option on his contract for another season, but demoted him back to the second team, with the team seeking to find a transfer for him.[8]

On 30 January 2019, he joinedSparta Rotterdamof theEerste Divisie,[9]helping them earn promotion to theEredivisiefor the following season. In April 2020, he extended his contract with the club for another season.[10]

In September 2020, he went on loan to fellow Eredivisie clubADO Den Haag.[11][12]

In February 2022, he signed withUkrainian Premier LeagueclubRukh Lviv.[13]However, he was unable to appear for the club as the season was cancelled due to the2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine,which forced him to flee the country, soon after signing.[14]

In December 2022, he signed a one-year contract for the 2023 season with a club option for a further year withCanadian Premier LeagueclubYork United.[15]He made his debut in the season opener on April 16 againstValour FC.[16]

On 28 June 2023, Faye joined Dutch sideTelstarin theEerste Divisieon a permanent deal, having left York United due to personal issues within his family.[17]He departed the club in December 2023, having spent only six months there, having only made six appearances, with his final game being on 15 September.[18]

On 18 January 2024, Faye signed withLiepājain Latvia.[19]

In August 2024, he signed withAl-Zawraain theIraq Stars League.[20]

International career

Faye was born in the Netherlands to a Senegalese father and Cape Verdean mother.[21]

In March 2018, he was called up to theNetherlands U20team for a friendly against theCzech Republic U20.[22][23]

In February 2018, he stated it would be a dream of his to representSenegalinternationally.[24]He has also been approached by theCape Verdean Football Federationabout representing theCape Verde national team.[25]In 2017, he was approached by theSenegalese Football Federationto represent theSenegal U20team at the2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup,but he was forced to decline the invitation, as his club team chose to not release him.[26]
