History
editLuigi was introduced in the 1983Game & WatchtitleMario Bros.,where he and Mario work in abottling plant.He later appeared widely in the arcade gameMario Bros.,released two weeks later. The first game to star Luigi and to use theLuigibranding was the 1990 gameLuigi's Hammer Toss,in which Luigi uses a shield to deflect hammers being thrown byHammer Bros.[3]More recently, he has appeared in theLuigi's Mansionseries. Two of the originalNintendo Entertainment System(NES)Mariogames, with those beingSuper Mario Bros.and the NES port ofMario Bros.,have been ported to theWii Uand altered to feature Luigi as the protagonist instead of Mario.

editNintendo Landfor Wii U features an attraction called "Luigi's Ghost Mansion", heavily inspired byLuigi's Mansion."Luigi's Ghost Mansion" involves up to four players dressed like Luigi, Mario,WaluigiandWariorespectively, who assume the roles of "ghosttrackers "and explore ahaunted houseto hunt for the fifth player, who is the ghost.[4]
Included inNES Remix 2isSuper Luigi Bros.,a Luigi-themed and mirrored version ofSuper Mario Bros.It features Luigi's higher jumping ability, which had not been originally introduced until the 1986 Japanese sequelSuper Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels.
An unlockable Luigi-themed version ofMario Bros.titledLuigi Bros.was also included withSuper Mario 3D Worldand its Nintendo Switch re-releaseSuper Mario 3D World +Bowser's Fury.
