- LA 830-1runs 2.821 miles (4.540 km), primarily along Van Avenue and Pleasant Drive, fromUS 425(North Washington Street) toLA 592(Cave Off Road).[38]
- LA 830-2runs 2.238 miles (3.602 km) along Shelton Road from US 425 (Crossett Road) to Crestwood Drive.[39]
- LA 830-3runs 3.581 miles (5.763 km) along Cherry Ridge Road and Peach Orchard Road from US 425 (North Washington Street, Crossett Road) to the concurrentUS 165/US 425/LA 2(Mer Rouge Road).[40]
- LA 830-4runs 2.091 miles (3.365 km) along Cooper Lake Road from US 165/US 425/LA 2 (East Madison Avenue) to LA 830-3 (Cherry Ridge Road).[41]

The route initially heads due east from LA 591. After 2.7 miles (4.3 km), it begins a winding path that soon follows the north side ofBayou Bartholomew.Near the end of its route, LA 834 crosses the bayou and turns to the southeast toward the community of Jones. Here, the highway turns sharply to the east, immediately crossing theUnion Pacific Railroad(UP) tracks at grade and intersecting US 165. The road continues eastward across US 165 as LA 835 towardKilbourne.LA 834 is an undivided two-lane highway for its entire length.[45][46][47][48]
