Altheman finished joint 5th at the2012 Summer Olympics.She beatAnne-Sophie Mondièrein her first match, thenNihel Cheikh Rouhoubefore losing toMika Sugimotoin the quarterfinals. Because Sugimoto reached the final, Altheman was entered into the repechage. In the repechage, she beatGulzhan Issanovabefore losing her bronze medal match toTong Wen.[2]

Altheman qualified for the2016 Summer Olympics,where she lost in the first fight.[1]At the2020 Summer Olympics,Altman won her first fight only to injure her knee losing the quarterfinal toRomane Dicko,forcing her to abandon the tournament rather than go to the repechage.[3]
