Mick Morgan(born 30 September 1948) is an English former professionalrugby leaguefootballer who played in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, andcoachedin the 1980s and 1990s. He played at representative level forEnglandandYorkshire,and at club level forWakefield Trinity(captain),York,Featherstone Rovers(captain),Carlisle,OldhamandCastleford(A-Team) as acentre,prop,hookerorloose forward,and coached at club level forCarlisleandCastleford.[3][4]

editMorgan started his career in the junior ranks atFeatherstone Roversbefore signing his first professional contract atWakefield Trinityin 1965, he made his début forWakefield Trinityhe playedcentreagainstBatleyatMount Pleasant, Batleyon Friday 1 April 1967.
He playedhookerinWakefield Trinity's 11–22 defeat byHalifaxin the1971–72 Player's No.6 TrophyFinal during the1971–72 seasonatOdsal Stadium,Bradfordon Saturday 22 January 1972. Representative career
editMorgan woncapsfor England while at Wakefield Trinity in 1975 against France (sub), and Wales, in the1975 Rugby League World Cupagainst France (sub), Wales, New Zealand (sub), and Australia, and in 1975 against Papua New Guinea.[2]
Post-playing career
editAfter finishing his playing career, Morgan became a club commentator forCastleford.His colourful commentary is particularly well known for an outburst he made during the1993–94 Regal TrophyFinal between Castleford andWigan.[6]
Morgan has written his autobiography entitledI Can't Spakein collaboration with Steve Till for publication on 25 January 2018 (Black Tree Publishers).
