Miguel Sandoval(born November 16, 1951[1]) is an American actor. He is known for his role on theNBC/CBSdrama seriesMedium(2005–2011), where he played D.A. Manuel Devalos.[2]

Biography
editSandoval was born inWashington, D.C.He began working as a professional actor in 1975 when he joined amimeschool inAlbuquerque,New Mexico.He later joined the troupe full-time and continued his study of mime.[1]He began his film career in the early 1980s.[3]He had small roles in such acclaimed films asDo the Right Thing,Jungle Fever,[4]andJurassic Park.After appearing inClear and Present Dangerin 1994, he began to take on larger roles, and appeared inGet Shorty,Up Close & Personal,andBlow.
Having appeared briefly inRepo Man[4]andSid and Nancy,Sandoval has also played the major roles of Treviranus (inDeath and the Compass), Bennie Reyes (inThree Businessmen) and Arizona Gray (in themicrofeatureRepo Chick) for directorAlex Cox.[5]In addition to film, Sandoval has acted in numerous television shows, often in recurring roles. Though shows such asThe CourtandKingpinfailed, he found success withMediumin 2005, where he playedD.A.Manuel Devalos[4]until the series ended in 2011. Sandoval's other guest starring roles include appearances in popular series such asFrasier,ER,The X-Files,Seinfeld,Law & OrderandLois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.He was prominently featured in the first season of theABCdramaMurder One.[2]
Sandoval has also directed taking the helm for thethird seasonMediumepisode "Whatever Possessed You",which aired in March 2007. He directed one episode in each of seasons four through to seven.[6]
Sandoval co-starred as Judge Hernandez inBad Judge,an American legal comedy television series co-created by Chad Kultgen andAnne Heche.It premiered onNBCon October 2, 2014.[7]After that, he had roles inDirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency,[8]Sharp Objects,andStation 19.[9]
Personal life
editSandoval resides inLos Angeles,California.[10]He and his wife Linda have a daughter,Olivia,an actress who portrayed his character's daughter onMedium.[11][12]
