He has previously coached in the area with the national teams ofOman,United Arab Emirates,Saudi Arabia,KuwaitandBahrain,winning theArabian Gulf Cupwith the Kuwait in 1996 and 1998. As a player, he made his name withSK Sigma Olomoucwhere he also began his coaching career before going on to work forSlavia Prague,FC Baník Ostrava,theCzechoslovakia national football team,Kazma Sporting Club,Al NasrandAl Ain FC.
Milan Máčala left his position as head coach of Bahrain in 2010 by mutual consent.[1]
