TheMexican rivulus(Millerichthys robustus) is aspeciesofkillifishfrom thefamilyRivulidaewhich isendemictoMexicowhere it is found in thePapaloapanandCoatzacoalcos Riverbasins. This annualkillifishgrows to atotal lengthof 4 cm (1.6 in). It is the only known species in itsgenus,but its exacttaxonomicposition remains uncertain, as it has not been included in anyphylogeneticstudy.[2][3]This species wasdescribedby Robert Rush Miller and Carl Leavitt Hubbs asRivulus robustusin 1974,[4]it was reclassified in the monotypic genusMillerichthysin 1995, the generic name honouring Robert Rush Miller.[5]
