Minister of Defence (Vietnam)

TheMinister of National Defence(Defence Minister;Vietnamese:Bộ trưởng Bộ Quốc phòng,lit.'Minister of theMinistry of National Defence') is theGovernment of Vietnammember in charge of theMinistry of National Defence.The Minister is responsible for the formalexecutivemanagement functions of state for defense. ByVietnamese politics' design, the assigned Defence Minister also automatically assumes the positions of Deputy Secretary of theCentral Military Commission,member of thePolitburoand member of theCouncil for National Defense and Security,by that the Defence Minister is practically the second-highest leader of theVietnam People’s Armyas well as the Militia and Self-Defence Force, just under theGeneral Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.The current Defence Minister is Army GeneralPhan Văn Giang,since 8 April 2021.
