Peter Hugh NolanCBE(born April 1949) is the Chong Hua Chair in Chinese Development and is Director of the University’s Centre of Development Studies, University of Cambridge and a Fellow ofJesus College, Cambridge.He previously held the Sinyi Professor of Chinese Management, at theCambridge Judge Business Schoolalso at theUniversity of Cambridge.[1]Nolan is a member of the Advisory Board ofCambridge Journal of Eurasian Studies.[2]
Nolan was named in the2009 New Year Honoursand made aCommander of the Order of the British Empirefor his work in developing British and Chinese business relations.[3][4]
Peter Nolan received his BA degree from the University of Cambridge, and his MSc and PhD from theSchool of Oriental and African Studiesat theUniversity of London.He was also awarded an honorary doctorate byCopenhagen Business School.[5]
Peter Nolan is the independent non-executive director ofChina International Capital Corporation Limited.
Nolan is the doctoral advisor of Liu Chunhang, the son-in-law of former PRC PremierWen Jiabao.
