Philippe Meirieu(born 29 November 1949 inAlès,Gard) is a French researcher, writer and politician. He is a member ofEurope Écologie–The Greens.
He is currentlyprofessorofeducationatLumière University Lyon 2.He supported theSocialist Partyfor a number of years, before joiningThe Greens.He entered politics in 2009 when he was selected to beEurope Écologie–The Greens' candidate in theRhône-Alpesfor the2010 regional elections.[1]
