Quinquinais anaromatised wine,a variety ofapéritif.Traditionally quinquinas containcinchona,which providesquinine,introduced to Europe from Peru in the 17th century by Spanish missionaries,[citation needed]and used both in treating malaria[1]and as the principal ingredient intonic water.
