Raffey Camomile Cassidy(born 12 November 2001) is a British actress. She first appeared as a child actress in thetelevision movieSpanish Flu: The Forgotten Fallen(2009), adding her first brief film role inDark Shadows(2012), her first main cast television role in32 Brinkburn Street(2011), and main cast film role inTomorrowland(2015). She followed this with adual rolein directorBrady Corbet'sVox Lux(2018) and her first top billing inThe Other Lamb(2019). She had a supporting role in the 2024 drama filmThe Brutalist,also directed by Corbet—which won the prestigiousSilver Lionat the81st Venice International Film Festival.[1]

Early life

Raffey Camomile Cassidy was born on 12 November 2001[2]inSalford,England.[3][4]Her father teaches acting, and she grew up in a family where her siblings were also involved in the entertainment business. Cassidy took acting classes at David Johnson Drama inManchester.[5][6]Her first part came unexpectedly as she was accompanying her older brother, Finney Cassidy on an audition for a role on a BBC drama. The casting crew needed a girl and, according to Cassidy, she "just happened to be there”.[7]

Cassidy's credits in 2012 include brief film roles inWarner Bros'Dark Shadows,directed byTim Burtonand starringJohnny Depp,as well asUniversal Pictures'Snow White and the Huntsman,oppositeCharlize Theron,Kristen Stewart,andChris Hemsworth.In 2015, Cassidy completed production as Molly in Amber Entertainment'sMolly Moon and the Incredible Book of Hypnotism,withEmily WatsonandDominic Monaghan,and starred as theAudio-AnimatronicAthena inDisney'sTomorrowland,withGeorge Clooney,Hugh Laurie,andBritt Robertson.[8]On television, she co-starred inMr. Selfridge,alongsideJeremy Piven.[8]

In 2013, Cassidy was named toScreen Internationalmagazine'sStars of Tomorrow.At that time, she was the youngest actor ever to be featured on the annual list.[9][10]
