TheRahadis a river that flows inEthiopiaand easternSudan.The sources of this river are in Ethiopia, where it is calledShinfa,and a tributary of theAbay(Blue Nile) on the right side.[1]The river has its origins in theEthiopian Highlands(west ofLake Tana), from where it flows 480 km (300 miles) (with a total length of about 665 km (413 mi)) into eastern Sudan.[1]In Sudan, it merges into theBlue Nile.[1]
