Ralph Johnson (bishop)

Edward Ralph Johnson(1828 – 11 September 1912) was anAnglicanpriest[1]in the second half of the 19th century.[2]
He was born in 1828, educated atWadham College, Oxfordandordainedin 1850. His first post was acuracyinFarnborough, Warwickshire[3]after which he was a Minor Canon atChester Cathedral.[4]He wasRectorofNorthendenand then collatedArchdeacon of Chesterin 1871 before being elevated to theepiscopateasBishop of Calcuttain 1876 andMetropolitanofIndia.He retired in 1898[5]and died on 11 September 1912.[6]
