editClarkson's credits include the seriesDoctors,Casualty,EastEnders,Footballers' Wives,andLife on Mars,as well as the American seriesHeroes,House,Dexter,SuccessionandUgly Betty.In 2008, she co-created the British seriesMistresses.[5]
In 2019, a prequel show toGame of Throneswas announced forHBOwith Clarkson attached to direct and executive produce the pilot, in addition to being involved in the creation of the series.[6][7]The show, reportedly entitledBloodmoon,took place 5,000 years before the main series and starredNaomi Wattsin the lead role. The pilot had reportedly been shot, but the show was subsequently shelved at HBO in late 2019.[8][9]
In film, Clarkson directed theHelena Bonham Carter-led filmToast,releasing onBBC Onein 2010.
In 2024, Clarkson made her featuredirectorial debutwith the critically pannedMadame Web,based on theMarvel Comicscharacterof the same name,and starringDakota JohnsonandSydney Sweeney.[10][11]
