Shreyansanathwas the eleventhJainTirthankaraof the present age (Avasarpini).[2]According to Jain beliefs, he became aSiddha– a liberated soul which has destroyed all of itskarma.Shreyansanatha was born to KingVishnuand QueenVishnaat Simhapuri, nearSarnathin theIkshvaku dynasty.His birth date was the twelfth day of the Falgun Krishna month of the Indian calendar.[2]
