Song bellsare amusical instrumentin thekeyboard percussionfamily. They are amallet percussioninstrument in themetallophonefamily that is essentially a cross between thevibraphone,glockenspiel,and celesta. They have bars made of aluminum.[1]

They sound oneoctavedown from the glockenspiel, or one octave aboveconcert pitchand generally have a range of2+12octaves. Song bells have been made by various makers at different times but were first introduced byJ. C. Deagan, Inc.in 1918 and manufactured by the company until 1924.[2][3]
