Steinar Pedersen(born 6 June 1975) is a former Norwegianfootballdefender.He is the son ofErik Ruthford Pedersenand brother ofKjetil Ruthford Pedersen.Pedersen is the first Norwegian to win theUEFA Champions League.[citation needed]

His career began withStart.After their relegation in 1996, he played forBorussia Dortmund,IFK GöteborgandLillestrømbefore returning to Start in 2002. With Borussia Dortmund he won the1997 Champions League,although he did not play in thefinal.He did however make two appearances en route to the final.[2]He was capped once for theNorway national team,in a 5–0 friendly loss to the USA.[3]
