Gypsy versus Roma

edit

I notice that "Gypsy" was recently changed to "Roma". While, in general, this is more correct, Zdob şi Zdub consistently useŢigan, which is equivalent to "Gypsy", not "Roma". I won't revert unilaterally, but I disagree with this decision. --Jmabel|Talk20:05, Feb 21, 2005 (UTC)

Language name

edit

I won't change the language name used simply because they're Moldovans. Obviously, it depends more on what they call it. "Hardcore Moldovenesc" seems to imply to me that it would be in "Moldovan" rather than "Romanian".

In addition, the presence of Moldovanisms such as "papusoi" (instead of the more Wallachian "porumb" or other words from various graiuri such as "cucuruca" ) seems a convincing argument to me. However, if they are fervently against "Moldovan" as a language or a name for a language, it should remain as it is. --Node23:52, 26 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Members

edit

I've restored two members who were deleted without comment by an anon IP. Both are mentioned on the band's own site:

  • Sviatoslav Starus -[1](in Romanian)
  • Igor Buzurniuc -[2]

Band history far too detailed

edit

The band history seems to have a massive history of gigs, I'd be tempted to strip it down a lot and only mention the most notable shows but I don't know enough about the band or the music scene in that region to say what is notable.Furbybrain(talk)13:59, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
