Twemlowis acivil parish,containing the village ofTwemlow Greenin the unitary authority ofCheshire Eastand the ceremonial county ofCheshire,England. According to the 2011 Official UK Census, the population of the entire civil parish was 192.[1]Twemlow lies on theA535 road[2]and theWest Coast Mainline,which crosses theRiver Danevia the Grade-II-listed Twemlow Viaduct.

From the 16th to the 18th century, theBoothfamily were the major landowners.

Twemlow is divided by the Dane from the adjoining parishes ofHolmes ChapelandBreretonto the south. The parish is also bounded byGoostreyto the north,Lower WithingtonandSwettenhamto the east, andCranageto the west. TheDane Valley Waylong-distance footpath passes through the parish on its route fromBuxtontoNorthwich.[2]

Twemlow viaduct

Twemlow is home to the Grade-II-listed Twemlowviaduct,built in brick byGeorge W. Buck,engineer toManchester and Birmingham RailwayCompany, in 1841.[3]It was built to allow theWest Coast Mainlinecross theRiver Dane.

The viaduct has attracted fans of the singerHarry Stylessince it featured in a 2013 film about the rise ofOne Direction.The site is reputedly the site of the singer's first kiss. In 2024,Network Railfenced off part of the structure and erected a specially constructed wall with blackboards for fans to inscribe their names, with the aim of preventing further damage after many fans inscribed their names on the structure.[4]
