Whichamis a hamlet andcivil parishinCopeland,Cumbria,England.[1]At the2011 censusthe parish had a population of 382.[2]The parish includes the villages ofSilecroftandKirksantonand the hamlets of Whicham andWhitbeck.[3]Whicham was recorded in theDomesday BookasWitingham.[4]

The parish has an area of 3,807.2 hectares (9,408 acres). It lies north ofMillomon the west coast of Cumbria. TheA595 roadcrosses it from north east to south west, near the south east border, coming fromBroughton in Furnessto a junction with theA5093 road,and then from south to north near the coast, towardsRavenglassandWhitehaven.The parish includes the hillBlack Combewith a height of 600 metres (2,000 ft), one ofAlfred Wainwright's "Outlying Fells".[2]TheCumbrian Coast linerailway follows the coast of the parish, with astationatSilecroft.The parish absorbed Whitbeck parish on 1 April 1934.[5]
There is aparish council,the lowest level of local government.[6][7]
