Augrabies is a small town in theNorthern Capeprovince ofSouth Africa,situated on the south bank of the Orange River about 100 km (60 mi) downstream fromUpington.It is located on the R359 road just outside theAugrabies Falls National Park,which contains the Augrabies Falls for which the town is named.
Get in
editFromCape Town,take the N7 north. Either take the R358 for a more direct route (about 10.5 hours in total, albeit along a dirt road much of the way), or continue north toSpringbok,taking the N14 east to Augrabies (11 hours in total).
Alternatively, fly toUpingtonairport, and drive the remaining 120km west.

editWhen the Orange River has a lot of water, theAugrabies Fallsturn into mighty falls that are really spectacular.
Do
editHot-air ballooning (in the cooler months only) and white-water rafting are available.
There are also a number of short hikes, and the 3-day Klipspringer hike (closed in summer) available inside the National Park.
